                         CPMA3  ~::~  uber arena
========================================================================

This multi-arena map gives CPM Deathmatch players the chance to have multiple games
on 2 classic tourney maps, CPM3 and CPM15, plus 1v1 or 2v2 on CPM16 and 4v4 on CPM21.
The multiarena was constructed by swelt (www.cpma.org.uk) but credit for CPM3 and CPM15
remains with their original authors, Jude and Blemish respectively.

Place this pk3 file in your baseq3 folder. Place cpma4.cfg in your map config directory
if one other than the default has been specified. Get Challenge Pro Mode at
http://www.promode.org.

Original map credits and info follow.

NOTE: To avoid unnecesary size, the map does not include the original textures. In order
to use CPMA3, the original maps (CPM3a, CPM15, CPM16 and CPM21, plus CPM1a) must also be
in the baseq3 directory. These maps are available as part of the CPM Map Packs.

-- Why did we choose this map?

This is the follow-on map developed by the author of CPM1. Built with Pro Mode in mind, and
inspired by Quake's DM4 it is a high-performance map. It was used extensively (over Q3DM6 and
Q3DM13) by US players in the Lansanity Pro Mode Tournament (July 2000).

-- Words from the author

Well, i thought i would try something a little different - Stacked, but quick.
It's very DM4 style which no doubt will add fuel to the arguments of the people who say that CPM = QW but it's not what i intended - what i intended for is to make a map similar to DM4 and i think for the most part i have done that.

Since i had alot of people comment on how bad CPM1 looks i though i would try some custom textures as well.. a mixed effect, some people like it and some dont.
I also wanted to make it contrast against CPM1 in the Armor department, this map has lots :)

.:: Level description
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	I started to build this map when I was in the first french cpm clan
called "roots". So its was called rootsdm1 :) Then, when "fast and furious" clan
was created, Viagraa, acid and I planned to release a FF mappack for cpm with 5
maps. We started FFDM1 (tp map), but didn't had enough time to finish it yet.
FFDM2 is the final version of rootsdm1 -including a quad for FFA or TP-.

	This map was made with cpm gameplay in mind, especially french settings
(ra 200 and fastrail), so don't expect much of it in vq3.

	See you soon for our next duel map, FFDM3 :)

-- update

	After some complains about the RA camping in ffdm2, I've decided to make
a new layout (ffdm2b) with the help of arQon and shambler for item placement.
But if you want to keep the old ffdm2 gameplay, you can use the map configs
in this pk3:

try to callvote map
!cpm15bfg : cpm15 with bfgs :)
!cpm15classic : ffdm2 item positions + new spawn points + ssg + old teles
!cpm15classicbfg : same as "classic" + bfgs

- Notes -

This map is optimised for CPMA 2v2 TDM. The 1v1 layout is totally
different, with an extra tele linking the main hall and lava hallway.
Warning, since the 1v1 layout contains a BFG it will probably not
be playable in vQ3.

There's a bunch of trick jumps n stuff too.

Included in the PK3 are 2 alternate item configs:
!cpm16a for 1v1 play replaces the BFG with a railgun, if you like sniping
!cpm16b for 2v2 adds a railgun in place of quad. With no powerup (save
mega) and rail being in a powerful but fairly vulnerable place, it ends
up a bit like Q2 tdm.

- Notes -

This map is optimised for CPMA TDM.

Bot Play is pretty rank. They won't go for several major items, but
I wasn't prepared to make architecture compromises to make them better.
I've "cheated" a bit to get them to take some, but for the best bot
experience, use CPMA, set bot_challenge 1 and set bot_boost 1.2 or 1.3.
